Back to the Beginning: revisiting the 90’s

Having been born in 1986, a substantial part of my growing-up occurred in the 90’s – a decade in which I first encountered the world of music, and a fitting starting point for this music blog of mine. The first few Itchy Ears posts will focus on revisiting my formative years as a music fan which I hope many 90’s kids can relate to. The reader must be aware that these posts are not intended as a straightforward nostalgia trip - after all, the 90’s was often a rather disappointing decade for popular music, which is neatly encapsulated by this video (N.B. look out for the rather brilliant Jeremy Clarkson cameo).

Whilst not everything is remembered affectionately from the 90’s, the next few posts recall the sounds of the decade that have stayed with me for better or for worse.
